No volume on a down day. Doesn't fit the recent pattern. Buyers have dried up. A/D's were negative at about 2 to 1 on the NYSE and 3 to 1 on the NASDAQ. Similar based on volume.

Thanks Ron for your regular updates on market volume.

IQL You are welcome.
Geert  - Sodium Bicarbonate for Acid Rain, Asthma, Cancer, |2010-08-23 11:41:48
Not only will the oil spill kill all life in the sea, it will also do it on land.

http://ulocal.wesh.com/_BP-Oil-Spill-EffectsAcid-Rain-in-Sanford-FL-Part-1/video/1146425/63272.html

There are other videos on the web where you can see airplanes coated with traces of oil. It goes on and on.

Here are some facts:

The US army apparently has large stocks of sodium bicarbonate to prepare for a nuclear event.

In many cases, sodium bicarbonate is the only therapy that can help in cases of life threatening asthma.

Dr Simoncini from Italy has been using sodium bicarbonate to kill the yeasts to surround acid cancer tissue. (All cancer tissue apparently is acid...).

Sodium Bicarbonate is used to detoxify all drugs and perhaps many chemicals.

Sodium bicarbonate is often given together with many cancer drugs because it reduces the pain from those drugs.

My only question therefore is:

Could they have used sodium bicarbonate to at least partially reduce (the damage from) the oil spill?

Sodium Bicarbonate is naturally occurring. A natural fire extinguisher.
It can be orally ingested.

I think you really need to stock on this one, as acids are coming in a major way... This pale horse can kill all life on 1/4 of the earth.

Sodium bicarbonate for periodontal disease. My dentist wanted to perform a root canal on my teeth 2 years ago,
but due to all the scare with cancer causing bacteria? within those root canals, I took sodium bicarbonate to clean my tee...

Thanks for the information.

I periodically try to find any followup news on Matthew Simmons autopsy, but to no avail.

Why the propaganda? Cover up obviously. If you want a cover up, you need to hush up the critics especially one as vocal as Simmons. I seriously doubt we will ever find evidence as the government is also very deep on this one. Curiouser and curiouser.
TitanTrader  - Curiouser and curiouser |2010-08-23 22:14:50
Or sadder and sadder, it's all getting so ubsurd. Look at this bond rally that really took off after QE lite. $10 billion purchases per month when we are running deficits 15 times that every month. Yeah maybe the bond market see's something else, whatever, I won't loan money to this government for 10 years at 2.6% before taxes.

I notice the market seem's to be selling off into the close today and a few days last week. We all know it's going down and should be down but it brings me no comfort.

This is going to get ugly and their isn't a dang thing I can do about it except warn people who don't seem to want to hear it.

Sorry for venting, it's just sad to witness.
Ron Rebner |2010-08-24 06:50:02
I understand what you are saying about people not wanting to hear the problems that lie ahead. I encourage you to continue the warnings as some will listen. We need to pray for our Lord to open the minds of those we reach out to. Keep up the good work and, venting is ok.
Mars  - For TUE: puzzle pieces |2010-08-23 23:46:08
Pivot Projection Model has TUE AUG 24 as a likely reversal for SP500 (immediate short-term trend has been down, thus expect a short-term reversal up).
Technical Indicator Alignment Pattern has signals MON evening for likely advances on TUE by SP500 and McClellan Oscillator.
McClellan Summation Index is expected to continue lower to mid-SEP.
NYSE Adv/Decl could complete a cycle with either: advance TUE & decline WED......or....advance TUE--WED & decline THUR.
Technically, we're similar to AUG 13, when SP500 bounced a couple of days before going lower.
Deac Heath  - To add to the speculation |2010-08-24 04:40:36
:ooo: This month, August 2010, has 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays, and 5 Tuesdays. It happens only every 823 years. What effect will that have on the S $ P 500?
Ron Rebner |2010-08-24 06:59:01
I am concerned about those that sell stocks and buy bonds.

Euro spiked about 100 in about a half hour. Has backed off a little. Not sure what is going on.

From another forum:

Quote:
What's happening is that the Euro is bouncing on support while the dollar is crushed on economic data against a rising YEN. The Yen is strengthening due to the carry trade unwind and deleveraging as stated above... the housing data is making that worse.
Mars  - TUE: Prodrome Model Alert |2010-08-24 11:02:50
For the first time since TUE AUG 10, this model is stirring awake and generating a signal. If you've been following along, you'll recall our prior hat-trick (TUE AUG 10, THUR AUG 5, TUE AUG 3) produced 3 winners. May we always be so fortunate.

PRODROME MODEL 2010 YTD 24 W--6 L
It is now after 12:00PM EST, and this model is issuing an ALERT.
The Prodrome Model attempts to identify the likelihood for looming weakness in the SP500 over the short-term. Sometimes the SP500 will begin declining the same day the signal is generated, but more commonly, the weakness comes in the following days. The model expects the opportunity to close "short" positions at a price lower than today's SP500 closing price.
As I write, the SP500 is currently @ 1057.51
Pending signals: none

As with most things in life, this model is capable of achieving both success and failure. It was created and continues to be tracked because I find it interesting...........it's that simple!
