I am going to allow myself to get a little more personal with you so you have a better understanding of who I am.

For the past 2 ½ years, I have been part of Global Perspectives. The mission of GP was to inform, equip, and prepare people for what lies ahead in this crazy mixed-up world. I believe we delivered on that mission. It started for me in April of 2007 when I got a clear message of what was to come. I knew that I was supposed to warn people of the coming economic collapse and did so at every opportunity. I struggled to find a platform that was big enough to reach all those that needed to hear. I prayed constantly to be used by God and to help me find the right vehicle. I am going to show you how God works.

We took a vacation to Florida in May of 2008.  The entire way down to Florida I had lectured my wife not to even think about looking at real estate. I was a trader and it simply was not the right time. Also, we had just finished building our dream house up north. We had spent the last 6 winters away from the frigid north and a rental was good enough. Then the unthinkable happened, I made a decision to call a realtor. Before we left, we had bought a house. What in the world was I thinking? After returning to South Dakota, I decided to leave it in the Lord’s hands. “God, I know you have a plan and if we are supposed to move, send us a buyer for our house.” We did not have our house listed. 2 days later, a good friend of mine called. He had sold his house and was trying to get out of the contract. The buyers would let him out but only if he could help them find a comparable house. “Would you mind showing them your house?” “I need to show good faith,” he said. I told him to send them over. We had a cash offer 3 days later. Now that is how God works! We were on our way to Florida 4 months later, October 2008.

After our arrival in Florida, I met Pastor Tim.  We shared a connection. From that connection, GP was born. It was live classes and a newsletter in the beginning and evolved to what it is today, a daily blog that helps inform, equip, and prepare. It was important to us to also feed your soul every day.

God called on me to deliver a message and I pray that I have done all that was expected of me. He provided the vehicle and I jumped on board. After all, if I am going to pray to be used then I had better be obedient. He is now calling me to move on and do something else.  I feel that we were successful in informing, equipping, and preparing people. Now it is time for sharing.  The next phase of this mission is to help care for those in need and to love them to Christ and an eternal life. I never intended to have GP turn into a financial site where people go to find out how to hold on and hoard their money or to lose sight of those in need. I had always wanted to help people protect their net worth so they could help others in need. Now is the time to help those in need.

I am going to focus on helping out locally volunteering for organizations that help feed and clothe those in need. I am also going to write a book and share some very personal experiences and hopefully win a few more to Christ.

I want to thank Nancy Vandermeer and Ron Rebner for agreeing to come on board and lighten my work load. They have become dear friends. I want to thank Chuck Ludwigsen for all his behind the scenes work. Chuck works about 70 hours per week between work and volunteering. Chuck hosted the site plus added the content. Thanks to Pastor Tim for providing the vehicle to reach people. We did some great videos together and hopefully helped many people.

When we started warning people of the fallout from this financial crisis, we were in the minority. Now our message is mainstream thinking. That is another reason that it is time to move on.  I want to thank all the people who posted our videos.  I especially want to thank Jesse from Jesse’s Café Americain for featuring so many of our interviews. Jesse and I share so many things and I will always consider him a brother.

I want to close by thanking all of you viewers for coming to our site and especially those who contributed daily. So many of you wrote to me and I feel like I made so many great friends. I hope these friendships will continue. I hope that I have taught you a thing or two that you can take with you. Patience and discipline will serve you well in all aspects of life not only trading. If I can ask a favor of you, I would request that you get involved locally with some type of mission work. If you can support them financially, please do so. Give to those organizations that provide outreach.  If you can’t help out financially, then volunteer. There are many things we can do. If we all took care of our backyard, then the world will be a better place.  God speaks to all of us, take time to listen. If you want to be used, ask. Be prepared, because he will use you.  In closing, it is my prayer that God will provide blessings to you all.

Friday will be my last day.

Jim  - THANKS |2011-10-23 14:47:36
Steve:

I have been an avid visitor of this site for the last 2 years. Thanks so much for your dedication and hard work. It's going to be a little strange not hearing the AM and PM audio blogs anymore as part of my daily routine but I think God is sending me as message as well. God bless you and your family. Take care.

Jim
Normand |2011-10-23 18:18:56

I can only echo Jim's feelings.

For me, not listening/reading you everyday will be like a loss.

But all great things have to come to a conclusion - even Steve's guidance.

When God sends you a message that it's time for you to move on, I feel that he is also sending me a message.

I will try to decipher what this message is in my grieving period away from Steve's market advice.

Thank you Steve. All the best to you and your family. Good luck in the next stage of your divinely inspired assignment.

Normand

Normand,

Thank you for being a part of GP. It is a loss for me too. From a loss will be a rebirth. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you for being a part of our community. Listen and obey his message to you. Thanks.
TitanTrader  - Wow, Stunning News |2011-10-23 18:19:19
There was nothing I looked forward to more then your twice daily audio updates. I feel selfish to say they are going to be very much missed.

Thanks for all the great incite over the past two years. I wish you and yours all the best.

TitanTrader,

You have been around from the very beginning. I want to thank you for all your support and well wishes. God Bless you and your family.
Warren |2011-10-23 18:37:05
Steve, I would like to thank you for all the hard work and effort you have put into this site. I have listened to you for most of your time here and I am not sure I even remember how I found this site. I do remember how I liked you from the first time I saw one of your interviews. I must say today after reading your message today I feel great sadness like I am losing a friend. I am amazed after trading the market for many years how many people don't understand or have the aptitude to learn about the market. The work you do here is great and not only do you help the readers and listeners of this site but their families and others who may depend on them.
You are a great man and I know God will use you to do great things! May God bless you in all that you do. I hope you will do periodic updates about your self and the state of the markets and the country from your perspective as well. I would like to apoligize for not doing more to get to know you during your time here. Take care,
Warren

Warren,

Thanks for all the kind words and thanks for being a part of us. I feel like all of you are friends and it is hard to think of not speaking to you everyday (even though the conversation was one sided). God bless you and your family.
Pablo Ortiz |2011-10-23 19:43:41
Farewell Steve. My wife and I have enjoyed your daily updates and especially your interviews with Pastor Neptune. I think that more important and less calculable than your ongoing financial advice, is that you've helped to awaken and prepare many individuals through whom your original mission of helping others can further itself in areas yet unknown. That's pretty exciting, huh? Best wishes to you.
SteveM |2011-10-24 07:03:14
Pablo,
Thank you and your wife for supporting GP. I am very excited to be called to do more. Finishing this book is something I am going to concentrate on in the weeks ahead. God bless you and your wife.

We have lost a friend, but respect his decision and his taking a new trail in life's journey. Ultimately, we will see each other in heaven thanks to the cross of Christ. God's blessings to you and your family Steve and we will see you down the trail.

You've made a friend but haven't lost one. I wish you the best going forward and may God bless you and your family.

Thank you, Steve. Your work here has been truly amazing.

I (as many others) will miss your daily updates greatly. However, I have already learned so much from you. That knowledge will be my future guidance.

Wish you all the best!

pid,

Thank you for contributing and being a part of GP. I am so glad that I was able to teach anything. Trading is constantly learning new tricks but patience and discipline never change. God bless you and your family.

Right you are Steve. Thanks for that reminder. Someone once defined a "friend" as "Someone who helps you on your way to heaven." You have been that, Steve. Thx.
Andre  - Thanks Steve |2011-10-24 08:42:04
for all you've done for us in these couple of years. All the best my friend.

Kudos from Portugal

GP is the first time I have ever been in the markets. Thanks for your teaching about the markets and how to seek God's will in this activity as in any other activity in our lives. May God Bless you in His new calling! Deac

Deac,

Thanks for being a contributor. Pray for his guidance and it will all work out. God bless you and your family.

I appreciate you being a part of GP. Thanks for the well wishes and may God bless you and your family.
Kritrdr  - Thanks and a little more help? |2011-10-24 09:45:38
Steve, I feel like I'm temporarily losing a friend, however I'm sure we'll meet someday in the Kingdom. I would like to make a request if you have the time. I find your advice the primary advice I follow and it has kept me out of the financial pitfalls many have fallen into. I do not have the knowledge to know how to mark trendlines, retracements and all of the things I've taken for granted the last year since you have provided it so effortlessly. Where does one go to learn how to do this do you have any books, people, or websites that we can turn to as a "Steve replacement?" Maybe a resource list could be posted some day? Selfishly, I will miss your advice greatly and God bless and keep you, your family and your endevours.
SteveM |2011-10-24 13:15:45
Kritdr,

Thank you for your kind words. I had planned on doing exactly what you requested. I will take a few days to compile a list that I feel comfortable with. May God bless you and your family.
SteveP |2011-10-24 10:19:29
SteveM,
God bless you, your family and the GP staff for all that you have provided here and done to help us out here trying to learn and educate ourselves. You will be missed, but I understand, appreciate, and admire your reasoning for changing course. Good luck and Thank You!!

Steve Meyers,
My friend, I'm surprised by this news but yet have been expecting it for a while. Surprised, in that it's so easy to take good people for granted, and expecting it because I know that you and your family have experienced health challenges over the last year or two. I believe I first started following this site nearly 2 years ago, after following a link from Jesse's website.
From that first link and early video it was evident that the GP Team were intelligent, polite people who sincerely believed in education and preparation for likely uncertain times. I also thought to myself, "this Steve Meyers must be a son of the Midwest" as he does the hard work while deflecting attention from himself. I especially enjoyed the humor (Seinfeld references, YouTube links, morning audio music openings, etc.) and once had coffee coming out of my nose with an SNL Debbie Downer clip ! Perhaps my favorite times though were when Steve would momentarily drop his reserve and really tell it like it is...."these are the most dangerous times I've seen in my career."
If this news means that the GP site will be moving on as well, then let me also add:
Ron Rebner: As I once said, "Ron Rebner is one of the nicest guys I've never met !" Thank you sir.
Nancy Vandermeer: Your contributions, primarily to our spiritual well-being have been a great addition. Thank you.
Chuck Ludwigsen: Like the wizard behind the curtain, you have pulled the levers and turned...

Chuck Ludwigsen: Like the wizard behind the curtain, you have pulled the levers and turned the dials to make this website run smoothly. Please step out for a moment and take a bow. Thank you.
Pastor Tim Neptune: Recognizing people's talents and encouraging them to be of service to others, good work sir. Thank you for your example.
Steve Meyers: I wish you continued success in all future endeavors, the luxury of spending plenty of quality time with your family, and the realization that we all are "our brother's keeper." May God bless you and your family.

your friend.........mars
SteveM |2011-10-24 13:22:49
Mars,

My thoughts with you are like the scene from Wizard of Oz when Dorothy tells the Scarecrow that she is going to miss him most of all. This is exactly what I feel towards you. From all your contributions with market analysis or your similar sense of humor (warped), I have enjoyed reading all your comments. I am hoping that all these friendships don't end. Thank you from the bottom of my soul and may God bless you and your family.
rrebner |2011-10-24 12:34:07
Mars. Thank you the compliment as I remember when you said it. Thank you also for all your help with articles and technical analysis. You were value added to GP.
JT |2011-10-24 12:16:54
Thank you Steve! I've been praying a long time for wisdom to guide my clients through these stormy seas. You were, I believe, an answer to that prayer.

Your brother, ...jeff
SteveM |2011-10-24 13:35:36
Jeff,

I am so glad that I could be of any assistance in the middle of this storm. Sometimes I feel like a sparrow in a hurricane. Best of luck with your clients and I hope to have a list of resources that I can pass on to help you out. God bless you and your family.

It's been fun. I know you and I have been on both sides of the fence but you have been by far a great voice and a person that has been giving great insight and sound advice. Blessing to you. Will you be doing a GP video before you leave?
Can I beg for one? ;O)
God's speed
Matt
SteveM |2011-10-24 15:59:42
Matt,

You helped make the site better. Thanks for all your input. Healthy debate is just that...healthy. We wouldn't have markets if everybody thought the same way. God bless you and your family and especially the little one. As far as a GP video, no plans as of yet but who knows?
Warren -- Question for Steve |2011-10-25 08:39:22
Steve I believe I read in one of your replies you may sometimes do a update from time to time. If the GP site is shut down how would we ever find it? Would you consider creating a e mail list to let people know your views? Just a thought, Warren
Normand  - Excellent question |2011-10-25 09:00:49
Steve,

This is an excellent suggestion.

Besides Warren's proposition, creating an email list would help you - and us - market your book to other interested people.

Right now, it might seem like a far-fetched idea, but I am sure that in a couple of months you will have many uses for it.

God's will was that our boats were anchored at the same port for a while. I would be surprised that even if it is now time to sail each on our ways, he wanted us all to behave like - under His guidance - we have never met.

Normand
Kritrdr  - more on what warren said |2011-10-25 08:45:14
I speak for myself but I would be willing to pay a subscription for your periodic email thoughts on the market. I would be willing to pay more if the profits were used to fund your charitable work. Just a thought (and desperate plea).
