Steve told you how God worked in is life and I want to share with you another example of how He works in wonderful ways. In early 2009, my wife and I were not being spiritually fed and she suggested we visit the Family Baptist Church on Marco. Although we had been Methodist for over 50 years, we knew religious denomination was not as important as growing in Christ. That first day Pastor Tim gave a message that was very meaningful to us and he announced the first Global Perspectives seminar. I went to that first seminar and met Steve and here we are today.

God led me to Steve. His thinking about the trouble that lies ahead was right in line with mine. In addition, he helped me in several ways, including with investing. Most importantly, I now have a good Christian friend. Later, through Steve, I met Nancy and found another good Christian friend who loves to serve and has a fire in her for the Lord.

Thank you to all who followed GP and/or contributed and to Chuck behind the scenes. We hope we helped inform, equip and prepare and in a way that kept God as the priority. Please share with your family and friends what you have learned and help them prepare for the difficult times ahead, financial and otherwise. We believe even more strongly that our debt as a nation and other factors will bring severe hardship to many. You may remember me calling Steve the Watchman on occasion. That name is from the Bible and in this case he was warning others of what lies ahead. Be prudent and stay prepared. (As a side note, you may want to consider copying the information and links that we have provided under the Preparedness section as we are not sure how long this blog site will be available).

I am saddened to be leaving GP but excited to see what God has planned ahead for my friends and me.

May I humbly suggest you find a church that feeds you. Read the Bible, find ways to serve and, don’t forget teach your kids and grandkids. I wish I had done a better job of this. Please try to keep Him in the center of your life. You will never regret it.

Don’t forget each night to hug the family and tell them how much you love them and thank God for all you have.

God bless you and your family.

Ron Rebner,

You have added so much to this site. An incredible volume of interesting articles, links, and always the important reminders about cherishing family and faith.
At times I've thought of you as a marathon racer, afraid that you'd started too fast and would hit "the wall" and burn out. We'd go through a period when few comments were being left and I thought you'd get dejected and slow down, but the next day, there you were again with strength of purpose. I know it has taken a lot of your time and effort, and I want you to know that we really appreciate what you've done. Thank you.
May you take the time to recharge your energy levels, reflect upon the many people you have encountered and helped, and be led to another great collaboration in service to others.

Ron, I think you're a great example.

I am just sadden as I can't believe one of my favorite daily sites is going to be no more.

Yeah of course I feel selfish.

Thanks Ron, Nancy and everyone else.

Maybe I'll have to come down and visit Marco Island and have a Sunday visit to the 1st Baptist Church and see just what it is that puts this many great people together.

For what it's worth this site has made me a better person. I have been more involved in my church and closer to Christ then anytime in the past 30 years. So the daily spiritual postings have rubbed off.

Funny I came here for market news (selfishness, again) and it lead me somewhere else.

Best of luck to all.

Thanks for the feedback!
It means a lot to the 3 of us to hear the daily devotionals made a difference in your life. We always thought we'd have to wait until heaven:) Hope you will subscribe to the emails. I read 10 each day to find the one to post- each author offered something different so we liked the variety. Keep growing in your faith. You now have a great testimony of how God is a God of surprises!
