Proverbs 22:3 "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it".
Our mission at GP is to keep people informed, equipped and prepared.
As part of our mission, GP wants to provide useful informational resources to help you prepare for what we believe are difficult times ahead, both financially and otherwise. As a reminder, we have provided in a Financial Preparedness section, selected websites, books and other resources that we hope will help prepare you and get your financial house in order. We alo have provided information on spiritual preparedness as well as other information. Please check it out by going tothe Our Perspective tab at the top and click on Preparedness.
A few comments on the difficult financial times we see ahead. Right now our country is broke. Our National debt (over $14 Trillion) is over three hundred thousand dollars for every household that pays net taxes. If we add on the expected debt for our “entitlements” (social security, medicare, etc,), it is over one million two hundred thousand dollars per household that pays net taxes. Imagine that, over one million dollars per household! We cannot even pay the interest let alone pay down the debt. In addition, we have had our Federal Reserve taking extreme actions like buying most of the debt that our Treasury Department issues. Why? To keep the stock market up so we feel like we can spend more and, to keep interest rates down and because there are not enough buyers for the bonds. We are in trouble and Washington keeps spending. At Global Perspectives, we believe this will not end well.
In addition to the significant economic problems we have, just look around our world. Geopolitical changes and events are both on the increase as well as in intensity. Any day they could easily change our lives.
Remember Proverbs 22:3 "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it".
We have the following specific recommendations for action:
- Don't Own Stocks - Stocks will eventually go back to the lows of 2009 as our debt, higher interest rates, a weak U. S. dollar and other policies lead to ugly economic times.
- Don't Own Bonds – The Fed has zero interest rates and are buying our own bonds issued by the Treasury because no one else will. Yields are now at 20 + year lows. No where to go but up and that means bond prices go down.
- Own physical Gold and Silver – Hedge on the U. S. $, inflation and chaos. Paper assets (like ETF’S) cannot be trusted.
- Keep Cash in a Strong Foreign Currency Bank (non U.S. dollars) – The U.S. $ will lose world currency status and the $ could lose half of it’s value. Our debt will crush us.
- Get Out of Debt - One less thing to worry about and debt is not Biblical.
- Keep at Least a 3 Month Supply of food, water and medicines. Be prepared to share with others.
- Stay close to God. He will help you through tough times. You are more than welcome to this information if you do not know God. We hope and pray that someday soon you will. We would love to have the opportunity to talk with you about enjoying a personal relationship with Him.

Matthew 7:24-28
New International Version (NIV)
Jesus said: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
GP believes and daily viewers all know it is not going to end well.
Some of us need to do this week what we have been putting off .
Please to prepare for yourself, family, loved ones and neighbors.
It like having a basic flash light and working batteries handy when the lights go out. Makes a difference.
Take a few moments and review all the PREPAREDNESS info under Our Persepctive Tab above.
You will find resources for personal , spiritual , financial , practical preparation.
In addition, articles in past weeks mentioned indidivuals should have cash on hand..... as ATM's may not be available.
We mentioned a few weeks ago a possible " Bank Hoilday" limiting acess to the building, bank boxes, check cashing, and credit purchases.

GP Week of Preparedness- A Sermon by Rev. Brian Kluth
Isaiah 38:1 "This is what the LORD says:
Put your house in order, because you are going to die."
1 - Get Your Faith in Order
Eccl 9:12 No man knows when his hour will come.
Heb 9:27 It is destined that each person dies only once and after that comes judgment. NLT
2 Cor 5:10 We (Christ following believers) must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
1 John 5:11-13 This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
John 3:3 Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
2 - Get Your Final Wishes in Order (Medical Wishes)
Prov 27:12TLB A sensible man watches for problems ahead and prepares to meet them. The simpleton never looks and suffers the consequences.
2 Cor 5:1-4 We know that when this tent we live in now is taken down-when we die and leave these bodies-we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forever-more, made for us by God himself and not by human hands. How weary we grow of our present bodies. That is why we look forward eagerly to the day when we shall have heavenly bodies that we shall put on like new clothes. For we shall not be merely spirits without bodies. These earthly bodies make us groan and sigh.TLB
3 - Get Your Finances in Order
Prov 27:23-24 Riches can disappear fast. And the king's crown doesn't stay in his family forever-so watch your business interests closely. Know the state of your flocks and your herds.TLB
Prov 3:9 AMP Honor the Lord with your capital (wealth, riches, goods, possessions, substance) and sufficiency from righteous labors and with the first fruits of all your income (revenues, increase, fruit, produce).
Deut 16:17 Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you.
4 - Get your Family Affairs in Order
Prov 13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children.
Prov 20:21 An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end. (Also see: Luke 15:11-24 Prodigal son)
Prov 17:16 What use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no desire to get wisdom?
Prov 19:14 Houses (a place to live) and wealth (enough stuff for the place you live) are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
5 - Get Your Funeral Celebration in Order
1 Thess 4:13-14 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

Survival Lists, Where to Purchase, Emergency Preparedness
Being prepared for an emergency is simply good advance planning. But in reality how many of us take the time to do it? As a Church we believe we have an opportunity to help others and share what we have with folks in a time of need. We encourage you to be proactive. Your local areas may have limited resources in the time of need. There will be shortages of key items as we have seen in the past. Being wise and owning in advance will give the opportunity to minister to others, be productive with ones resources and protect ones family. We do not need to be victims.
GP: Length of time for supply needs may vary as current recommendation is 1 month to 3 months supply of food and water based on potential shortages and price increases.

GP:
In response to Mars suggestion we will run some of our postings again over next few days. You can always go to OUR PERSPECTIVE - Click on the Preparedness tab . The article below was posted in early September so the numbers are worse than what is written here.
Our mission is to keep people informed, equipped and prepared for any type of disaster based on the scripture :
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
Proverbs 22:3 NLT
Some of us have adjusted our portfolio and some of us have it on the TO DO list. Some of us have bought our supplies but have taken a few items out and not replenished. Hurricane Irene prep gave us an idea of how many people will be caught short. Maybe this is the week you really cross these items off the TO Do list!
GP Preparedness Re-posting for early September 2011 As part of our mission, GP wants to provide useful informational resources to help you prepare for what we believe are difficult times ahead, both financially and otherwise. I know: The invariable response is, "But I don't have time." Please. It never fails to amaze me how people will spend weeks planning a visit to Disneyland with the grandchildren but won't take a few hours to assemble a retirement budget that could easily last 30 years. Believe me: You can find time. Take control of what you can control -- and take the anxiety out of your retirement planning.
Want to hear some good news about retirement? You have more control over your future than you think.
So much about retirement planning today is marked by doubt: We don't know whether our savings will see us through old age. We don't know what might happen to Social Security and Medicare. We don't know whether we'll be able to continue to work for as long as we wish to (or need to). And so we fret -- a lot. In its most recent "retirement confidence" survey, the Washington, D.C. based Employee Benefit Research Institute found that 27 percent of workers are "not at all confident" about having sufficient funds to live comfortably in later life -- the highest level of gloom in the study's 21-year history.
